Job Overview:
To aid in furthering our mission at Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, we are seeking a Finance and Operations Supervisor to take ownership of the financial management and business functions of the organization. We desire a candidate who possesses an understanding of all aspects of accounting including proficiency in technology software and an aptitude for interpreting the financial statements. This individual would be in charge of managing personnel and maintaining records of all activities through Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.

Duties:

  • Process deposits, bills, and payments along with payroll and 1099’s.
  • Maintain QuickBooks Online software and all insurance policies.
  • Supervise all contracts and bids for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Assist with external annual review and report findings to the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee other audits such as workers’ compensation, grants, programs, and generate schedules and reports as needed.
  • Provide ASL interpreter auditing including credentialing, licensing, insurance etc.
  • Coordinate with program and event coordinators to set up and maintain program budgets.
  • Organize registrations and transactions related to ASL workshops and events year-round.
  • Uphold the human resources and employee lifecycle including development of team members and annual performance reviews.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information and become HIPPA certified.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- Proven experience in financial accounting, grant writing and financial concepts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
The person filling this position will be instrumental in elevating the organization for successful growth. They must possess the ability to multitask effectively with flexibility and initiative. Having familiarity with accounting and human resources governing non-profit organizations and independent contractors is key. Knowledge of the Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing communities and their language, ASL, is of great importance.
