ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three years relevant experience in a responsible financial role, preferably in an academic environment or teaching hospital
  • Experience in financial management, operating and program grants, and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial management procedures, accounting principles and policies pertaining to funding agencies and academic institutions
  • Demonstrated experience processing financial and payroll transactions
  • Experience preparing budgets, financial reconciliations, forecasts and analysis
  • Experience providing cost-saving recommendations, and implementing plans and process improvements
  • Advanced proficiency with M365, financial information systems (FIS) and human resources information systems (HRIS)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with faculty, and staff and can work in a team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and solid organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Forecasting, planning and monitoring complex budgets, with multiple sources of revenue and recoveries
  • Monitoring, reconciling and reporting on funding accounts for grants and contracts
  • Processing financial and payroll transactions
  • Conducting salary and cost benefit analysis
  • Providing advice and data to support business cases and analytics
