WHO WE ARE:

StartBright is a registered charity that provides excellent childcare, early learning and school age childcare services to over 450 children in seven different locations every day. Children in our service come from a variety of backgrounds. We particularly support children coming from communities experiencing disadvantage, children with additional educational needs and children from families with multiple disadvantages. We employ over 80 staff and our services are delivered in a safe, supportive and creative environment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· 2+ years working in a similar role.
· Minimum Qualified/Part Qualified Accounting Technician with a view to continuing to achieve Accounting Qualification.
· Excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills.
· Working knowledge of SAGE or similar systems (training provided).
· Ability to work independently with minimal guidance to drive things forward.
· Outstanding organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
· Experienced in Microsoft Excel.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through with a high-level of accuracy.
· Demonstrated experience exercising sound judgment and a high level of discretion with sensitive/confidential information.
· Flexible, results/action-oriented, ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced, well organised, ambitious, enthusiastic, results focused team player to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will have prior experience in a similar role and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, adaptability and the ability to multi-task diverse responsibilities. The candidate will be self-motivated and have the ability to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative.
The candidate will be an experienced user of Microsoft Excel and have previous experience with accounting software. This role is varied and offers excellent exposure to the right candidate to all facets of the finance function.
Reporting to the Financial Controller

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepare monthly templates to upload, wages, funding receipts and other transactions to General ledger
· Assist with month end preparation including all reconciliations, FA Register, Grant Amortisation, Deferred Income.
· Assist with preparation of returns to Pobal and other funders
· Assist with preparation of year end audit file
· Assist with preparation of annual budget
· Assist with preparation of management reports and board of management meeting packs
· Assist with adhoc finance projects
· Maintain Finance processes and policies
Process Improvement Identification

KEY ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Support CEO, Financial Controller and Accounts manager with key administrative tasks
· Responding to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries in a professional and proactive manner.
· Maintain all records in relation to the requirements of our Funders/ Capital Grants
· Provide other support as required to the CEO and or other head office staff in a financial capacity
Take on other tasks which may arise within the Finance function.
