Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Dundee, Scotland (full-time on-site)
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £28,000 – 30,000 + benefits
AJ Connect is working in close partnership with a successful SME in the food production industry to appoint a Finance Assistant. This is a critical appointment within a business that’s grown to become a market leader in its sector, employing over 100 staff during peak seasons.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone local to Dundee who’s looking for long-term progression.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with Sage Line 50 Accounts and Payroll
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Background in a similar finance/admin role
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the finance function day-to-day. You’ll be involved in maintaining financial records, processing payroll, and assisting with audit preparation. It’s a fast-paced environment that requires accuracy, discretion, and a proactive mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process purchase invoices, petty cash receipts, and supplier payments
  • Complete regular bank reconciliations
  • Credit control and sales ledger maintenance
  • Weekly and monthly payroll, including overtime processing
  • Support audit processes with accurate record keeping
  • Data entry for supply chain systems and finance databases
  • General administrative support to the finance team.
