Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Finance Assistant to undertake a variety of day- to-day bookkeeping, financial & administrative tasks to support a portfolio of growing startups including BIOS Health. Reporting into the Group CEO Emil, you will be an integral part in ensuring that financial operations run smoothly by providing key bookkeeping functions. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, and an enjoyment of a diverse set of responsibilities and interactions. You’ll love working closely with the Group Executives on a range of tasks, managing competing priorities, multitasking to tight deadlines and tackling anything that comes your way.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping and project-based grant activities for CAR, and BIOS Health. As a dynamic role within a group of ever evolving and fast- growing companies, these responsibilities will change over time and include the following:Bookkeeping in Xero, including monthly management accounts, reporting preparation and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Liaison with external finance & tax support organisations
  • VAT return preparation & submission
  • Sales Ledger and Credit Control
  • Purchase Ledger and timely payment management
  • Annual financial reporting including annual account submission and R&D tax claims
  • Board Meeting report generation and delivery of the above reporting and analysis
  • Innovate UK and other grant body financial claim preparation and administration
  • Supporting operational processes including employee expense management, onboarding new suppliers
  • Assisting with critical business decisions relating to the finance and performance of the business (involving sometimes complex conversations around the status and performance of the business)
