FINANCE ASSISTANT

Dumfries | £30,555 per year | 35 hours per week | Fixed Term for 12 months

WHAT’S THE JOB?

We’re looking for a talented Finance Assistant to join the Finance Team on a Fixed Term contract.
The Finance Team are responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis, which will support budget holders across the college in understanding and managing their budgets.
The team play a key role in maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring sound financial health for the college.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Finance Assistant with a background in a financial support role, who will help us with timely processing of transactions, and act as a point of contact for queries and budget support from internal and external Stakeholders.
As well as helping with day to day transactions, you will be supporting budget holders and teams across the college to control costs, manage their budgets, and understand financial information and processes.
To succeed in the role, you will have some or all of the following:
· You will have qualifications at SCQF Level 7 (HNC) or have relevant skills and experience in a financial support role.
· Experience of bookkeeping or maintaining ledgers, payroll processing, or using financial accounting software is desirable.
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Organisational and time management skills
· Ability to work independently, and from own initiative.
· Strong customer service, teamworking, and relationship building skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using MS Office and any job-specific software/systems
· Adaptability to evolving digital opportunities and willingness to continuously improve digital competencies.
· Hybrid Working will be considered.
