JOB SUMMARY

We are recruiting a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to support the growth of the business. You’ll gain hands-on experience while working towards your AAT qualification, with full support and training provided.
You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely processing of information throughout the finance function in a varied role, ensuring that all queries are dealt with quickly and effectively to enable accurate reporting. Although the majority of the transactions will be within the UK business there will be opportunity to be involved with the overseas entities.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their accountancy career to undertake their AAT qualification while working in a vibrant commercial scale-up business. You will benefit from being challenged and developed within a supportive environment.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

· Study support provided for AAT in the form of an apprenticeship
· Minimum 5 GCSEs A*-C/9-4 including English and Maths

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· Ideally, 6–12 months of experience in a finance or administrative role
· Preferred: Some familiarity with finance systems (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
· Good knowledge and use of Excel
· Experience using Microsoft packages

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

· Motivated and conscientious, taking ownership of tasks and having pride in producing consistent, high-quality work to agreed timescales
· Strong attention to detail
· Highly numerate

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Purchase invoice processing including resolving queries both internally and externally
  2. Assisting cardholders with credit card processing including discussing expenses with relevant card holder as required and ensuring receipts provided
  3. Check and post expenses for UK and overseas employees to ensure documentation complete once approved
  4. Maintenance of customer database
  5. Overseeing the sales ledger, including raising sales invoices and credit control
  6. Maintaining communication with Logistics team to ensure tracking goods sold through the process up to receipt of goods by the customer.
  7. Supporting the Financial Controller with the month end close down
  8. Assisting with ad-hoc duties as required to support the wider Finance team and the wider business
  9. Suggesting improvements to processes where appropriate
