ABOUT US:

We are a no kill animal rescue charity with a growing chain of shops to help generate income for the charity. We currently have 1 rescue centre based in Weardale which we are constantly expanding, and our aim is to open a second rescue centre when possible.
Our CEO is also developing a range of card and board games to diversify the income to the charity.

Hours – 37.5 hours a week Monday – Saturday.
Holidays – 28 days per annum inclusive of bank holidays.
Sick leave, maternity leave, redundancy entitlement – Statutory.
Probation period – Six months.

Responsibilities

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

The position plays a key role in supporting the Finance Department and organisation. Reporting to the Head of Finance the postholder will assist senior staff in the daily management of the Finance Department and the general office.
Existing financial abilities preferred along with the desire to continue learning and improvement. Effective communication, and the ability to inspire and motivate others you work with will be key strengths of the ideal candidate.
You will need to be adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges, which allows you to navigate complex situations with ease.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

· Data Entry and Record Keeping: Accurately entering financial data, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance. Scanning, filing and logging account documents.
· Invoice Processing: Processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing payments.
· Administer supplier payments.
· Create, send, and follow up on invoices.
· Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets.
· Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Head of Finance.
· Assist and administer the accounting systems and processing of the day-to-day financial information including purchase, sales and nominal ledgers.
· Maximise the use of ICT in financial systems and procedures.
· Communication and Liaison: Interacting with internal staff and external customers/suppliers, providing information and support.
· Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or suppliers.
· Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the proper authorities.
· Assist the Head of Finance in creating financial reports on a regular basis.
· Adhere to the organization’s financial policies and procedures.
· Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
