Southport.

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Holidays: 29 days per year paid holiday (including bank holidays), rising to a maximum of 32 days with time served.
  • Reports to the Senior Finance Assistant

Our client is a Northwest based Construction and life safety company. They have seen rapid growth for the past three years in large service contracts and installation projects. This is a position to provide additional financial support.

Postholder will be pragmatic, resourceful, collaborative, organised with an eye for detail. Training and on-going support will be continuously available.

  • To manage the accounts inbox ensuring all communications are handled promptly and professionally.
  • To ensure purchase costs – overheads and subcontractor costs are processed in line with monthly timetable and 3 way match is carried out
  • Overseeing the purchase orders for Construction and Electrical to ensure robust financial controls and processes are being adhered to
  • Ensuring supplier relationships are well maintained and records kept up to date.
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Process staff expenses
  • Producing supplier payment runs and processing of supplier payments.
  • Dealing with supplier queries.
  • Processing and reconciling credit card transactions ensuring VAT is correctly accounted for
  • Reconcile the bank accounts
  • Providing support to Accounts Receivable team.
  • Assisting with the continuous improvement of existing financial processes.
  • Ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across internally and externally.
  • Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, proactive.
  • 3 years plus experience in financial administration.
  • A warm and engaging character with correct values & behaviour
  • Have an organised approach to work, to be able to prioritise and work with others to deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Happy to challenge methods, looking constantly for improvements and simplicity.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal), to deal with people of all levels and be able to identify where things are not working.
  • Energy, Drive, Enthusiasm, and a CAN-DO ATTITUDE
  • Personable and enjoy interaction with other areas of the business.
