OCA is a non-profit educational charity, who is in partnership with The Open University.
Our purpose is to widen participation in arts education through open flexible distance and online learning.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our team for a temporary maternity cover position. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a background in finance or accounting, who is looking for a varied role in a supportive and flexible environment. You will be responsible for providing essential support across a variety of finance-related tasks, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance function administration.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Validation and collection of student enrolment fees and funding.
  • Monitor and manage bad debts, collect declined payments, issue reminder letters, withdraw tuition and liaise with tutors
  • Processing invoices, payments, refunds and receipts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end procedures.
  • Prepare and process employee claims, expenses and reimbursements.
  • Handle general finance queries from students, staff and suppliers.
  • Assist with audit preparation and liaising with auditors where necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team.
