Based in the historic city of York, Dalton Terrace Surgery is an old-established family practice offering a friendly personal service from substantial premises in the heart of the city.
Primary Objective of the role of Finance Assistant
Operating as part of our Administration team to provide support to the Practice Manager in managing and coordinating the practice finances, to achieve optimal efficiency and financial performance

Description of the role

  • Processing of all documentation associated with the practice financial accounts
  • Review income & expenditure statements, identifying any inaccuracies and rectifying
  • Input to the practice accounting system (Sage)
  • Prepare monthly journals for practice rental income, GMS income & payroll
  • Making payments from the practice bank account within agreed timescales
  • Bank account reconciliation
  • Raising invoices & claims for income due to the practice as required
  • Production of financial reports & forecasts
  • Processing monthly payroll for 40+ employees & partners
  • Overtime monitoring & holiday entitlement calculations
  • Update staff training records & issue reminders for mandatory training
  • Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.
  • Part time role -16 hours per week
  • Salary – dependent on experience.
