Description

JOIN OUR FINANCE TEAM AS A FINANCE ASSISTANT.

(with a core focus on Purchase Ledger – Part-Time with Flexibility)
Are you an outgoing, sociable, detail-oriented, and organised individual with a passion for finance? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where teamwork, efficiency, and communication are key? If so, we want you on our team at Laser Wire Solutions (LWS)!
At LWS, you’ll be part of a highly engaged and supportive finance team where clear communication, precision, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do. This part-time role offers flexible working hours, perfect for someone seeking work-life balance while still making a meaningful impact. We power the technologies of tomorrow with precision-engineered solutions, and we’re looking for a Finance Assistant to help keep our financial operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Finance Assistant, your primary responsibility will be managing our Purchase Ledger process, while also supporting other core finance functions. You’ll play a vital role in the smooth, day-to-day running of our finance department. Key tasks include:

  • Matching, coding, and posting purchase orders and supplier invoices with speed and accuracy.
  • Entering invoices into Factory Master (MRP) and SAGE, ensuring data integrity and timely processing.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries effectively.
  • Managing employee expenses and credit card statements.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly supplier payments.
  • Assisting with wider finance admin and supporting continuous process improvement.
  • Handling routine supplier communications and helping maintain positive relationships.

You’ll work closely with the Finance team and liaise with departments across the business. Your attention to detail will help keep everything running like clockwork.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys structure, thrives in an office-based team environment, and takes pride in tidy ledgers and seamless operations. You’ll ideally bring:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent (advantageous but not essential).
  • Previous experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable.
  • A sound understanding of accounting principles like reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and finance systems such as SAGE.
  • Confidence in learning MRP systems like Factory Master (training provided).
  • Good interpersonal skills for dealing with suppliers, including in multiple currencies.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
