Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This role is to cover maternity leave on a part-time basis (28 hours per week) for up to 12 months in our busy Accounts Payable Team. The Accounts Payable team comprises three separate teams - two Processing teams serving our colleagues in the Faculty Finance teams, plus the Payments team, who undertake the processing of BACs and Bank Transfer payments. This role is within one of the processing teams and the purpose of the role is to process invoices, expense claims and any other ad hoc payments in a professional and timely manner, and to deal with any related queries.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

The role holder will share responsibility for a group of suppliers alongside other team members. They will be accountable for managing any manual interventions and following up with approvers in the workflow to ensure invoices are processed and paid within the agreed payment terms (typically 30 days). This includes working through invoice lists, handling supplier statements, and resolving any supplier queries as they arise. The role holder will also be involved in checking and entering of non-staff expense claims, and dealing with queries in the internal mailbox. Other ad hoc tasks include being involved in implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives and any other short-term projects.
