Raising Explorers is a unique, Ofsted-registered childcare and education centre based in Bradford. We are passionate about providing high-quality care and education, and we are currently seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with confidence in handling financial data
  • Excellent attention to detail in data entry, record-keeping, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Eagerness to learn new finance systems and tools
  • Knowledge of UK government benefits and funding procedures
  • Clear and professional communication skills, especially when working with clients, customers, and parents
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree or qualification in a finance-related subject (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a finance or admin role with financial responsibilities
  • Proven experience maintaining accurate records and working with spreadsheets

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support daily operations within the finance department
  • Maintain and update financial spreadsheets with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist the Finance Manager with a variety of tasks related to income, expenditure, payroll, and reporting
  • Manage and process UK government childcare benefits and funding claims
  • Build and maintain strong, professional communication with clients, customers, and parents
  • Uphold high standards of punctuality, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Help respond to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders
