Description

Raising Explorers is an Ofsted-registered childcare and education centre based in Bradford. We are dedicated to delivering excellent care and learning opportunities for children, and we are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our supportive team.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic finance professional to contribute to the smooth running of our centre. You’ll be part of a small team where your skills and attention to detail will play an important role in ensuring our finances are accurate and well managed.

Main Duties

  • Carry out day-to-day tasks to support the finance department
  • Keep financial records and spreadsheets up to date
  • Assist the Finance Manager with payroll, expenditure, income tracking, and reporting
  • Process childcare funding and benefit claims in line with UK government requirements
  • Communicate with parents, clients, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
  • Respond to finance-related queries from internal and external contacts
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and organisation in all tasks

What We’re Looking For

SKILLS & QUALITIES:

  • Confident working with numbers and financial data
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail in record-keeping
  • Good knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems
  • Clear communication skills, especially when dealing with parents and stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Finance-related qualification or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance or admin role
  • Track record of managing spreadsheets and financial records effectively
