SUMMARY

The position of Finance Assistant is responsible for the process of accounts payable and employee credit cards as well as assisting with Trust Officers/Executive Services Assistant on day-to-day Trust operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.   • High School diploma and one to two years of experience within a financial institution would be a plus
  • Ability to work independently, plan, organize and prioritize daily activities. The person in this role will need to be able to problem-solve and reason-through issues that may arise. They must be able to think beyond the textbook and apply knowledge to accounting questions and issues that present themselves
  • Proficiency with MS Windows platform, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to provide guidance to managers and effectively communicate with others
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standard situations
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities

SUMMARY

The position of Deposit Operations Specialist is part of a team operating in a fast paced, deadline driven environment handling all incoming and outgoing deposit and electronic banking functions that may include ACH transactions, debit card, account maintenance, wire processing and electronic banking support and maintenance. This position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with prior experience in a financial institution. Bank experience should consist of retail, operations and computer knowledge.
  • Prior telephone customer service experience is essential.
  • Proficient skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, computer system and word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Proficient typing skills to meet the production needs of the position.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Processes accounts payable.
  • Inputs invoices and employee credit card statements into accounts payable system.
  • Produces ACH and direct deposit payments as well as prints checks and mails to vendors.
  • Maintains W-9 and ACH forms as needed.
  • Processes 1099 tax documents annually.
  • Researches and follows up on accounts payable issues and questions.
  • Posts entries to the general ledger for accounts payable and employee credit card related transactions.
  • Creates and distributes accounts payable reports.
  • Maintains records/documentation and processes transactions for bonds.
  • Adheres to compliance with all SVB and Trust policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking Trust regulations.
  • Processes an active Trust through to its closure. This includes contact with utilities, estate sale companies, beneficiaries, realtors, etc. and can require some travel.
  • Opens, maintains, transacts, reports, and closes all account types of Trust accounts.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations and verifications of customer reports utilizing Trust software.
  • Prepares reports and assists in other preparation for regular Trust Committee meetings and Trust exams/audits.
  • Maintains records/documentation and processes all shareholder transactions.
  • Provides support to the Finance Team through additional tasks and responsibilities as required.

SECONDARY DUTIES

The position of Finance Assistant performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provide daily support for branch and solution center employees concerning customer inquiries, problem resolution and customer research
Shares responsibility for Unposted and Overdraft resolution processing.
Shares responsibility for ACH processing.
Shares wire processing (incoming and outgoing – foreign and domestic) and any reporting requirements.
ATM/Debit card duties and responsibilities including maintenance requests and reports.
Will work in a team environment and assist with any other duties as needed.
