TITLE: Finance Assisatant TEAM/PROGRAMME: Finance/ Support LOCATION: Rakhine State Number of Position: 1 GRADE: NAT-5 CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed Term CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE: (Manage the Financial tasks in assigned Save The Children Office in collaboration with the Head of Office and she / he will be supported technical by Senior Finance Officer.) In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Senior Fianance Officer Staff reporting to this post: None Budget Responsibilities: No financial approval Role Dimensions: No regular contract Travel (within the area): Frequent (over 3 days per month) KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : • Check all expenditures with necessary supporting documents and authorization sign. • Each expense is recorded in the cash book on the date of transactions. • Ensure regular clearing of advances in collaboration with Area Office. • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of cash transfer requests from Area Office and Yangon Head Office based upon the appropriate cash requirement forecasting of field office. • Ensure that all collections and payments are done against serially pre-numbered cash receipts and cash payment vouchers. • Completely fill in the relevant SCI payment/receipt vouchers for all transactions ensuring accurate description, coding, and enclosing relevant required supporting documents. • Carry out the regular financial data entry into the cash and petty cash offline excel spreadsheets based on approved payment vouchers. • Undertake month-end procedures in compliance with financial requirements and ensure timely submission of the full financial document to Area and Yangon finance team. • Take regular backup of the office financial data to make the appropriate records. • Prepare for Monthly financial packages and reports. • All expenditures must be keep as scan copy. • Liaise with area offices and Yangon finance staff regarding all relevant financial compliance issues. • Perform any other relevant duties and tasks assigned by supervisor. Integrity: • Honest, encourages openness and transparency; demonstrates highest levels of integrity • Always acts in the best interests of children QUALIFICATIONS University degree or equivalent qualification in finance and accounting EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential Desireable • Strong computer skills, especially ain Accounting packages sush as microsoft Excel • Experience of working in a busy NGO environment Skills and Experience: • At least 1 year experience in related field Education: • Bachelor Degree, May be undertaking a professional qualification or equivalent certification Communication and Technical Skills • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal • Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure • Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements Management: • Good Significant people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment which encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas.
