The Role

The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring accurate data, timely reporting, and smooth delivery of financial processes across multiple contracts. This role is ideal for someone organised, detail‑focused, and comfortable working in a busy environment with varied responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate weekly and monthly payroll reports for multiple services
  • Support the finance team with ad‑hoc tasks including reconciliations, data checks, invoice preparation, and administrative duties
  • Assist with generating invoices for local authorities across multiple contracts, ensuring correct rates, hours, and evidence are applied
  • Maintain organised financial records and contract documentation
  • Help prepare reports, summaries, and data packs for management
  • Support credit control processes by logging payments, remittances, and invoice tracking
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance workflows and templates

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience working in a finance or administrative role
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, data validation, pivot tables, and structured spreadsheet design
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and the ability to use AI to support data checking, process efficiency, and workflow automation
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Confident communicating with internal teams and external partners
  • Experience with invoicing processes is essential
  • Knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software is an advantage
