We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Finance Assistant to join our office team and help keep our financial operations running smoothly. You’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, reporting directly to the Finance Manager and working closely with the sales & operations coordinator.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organised, confident with numbers, and looking to grow within a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

SUMMARY OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Proven experience in a finance/account’s assistant role (Senior level preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working across teams
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with cloud-based accounting systems (Xero preferred)
  • AAT qualification or working towards it (preferred, but not essential)
  • The ability to follow instructions while also taking initiative
Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for a range of finance and operations tasks, including:

  • Processing sales invoices and reviewing daily worksheets
  • Matching supplier invoices to delivery notes and checking prices
  • Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and fuel card receipts
  • Allocating customer payments and chasing overdue invoices
  • Preparing weekly cashflow reports for Directors
  • Monitoring department scheduling spreadsheets
  • Managing quarterly VAT returns and monthly Profit & Loss reports
  • Assisting with payroll by tracking overtime, sickness, and adjustments
  • Preparing monthly commission reports
  • Creating labour time records and comparing project budgets to actuals in Xer
