About us

Lock Stock Self Storage is the largest container storage company in the UK. We are a modern, dynamic and growing business operating across multiple sites, providing storage solutions to a wide range of customers.

About the role

We are looking for an organised and reliable Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day finance operations across our group companies. Based at our Denbigh Head Office and working within a small team, you will help ensure that customer receipts, banking transactions, supplier payments and financial records are processed accurately and on time.

This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone with accounts or finance administration experience who enjoys working with numbers, resolving queries and keeping records organised. You will have responsibility for regular tasks, with support and guidance from experienced finance colleagues.

The role will also include general administration duties supporting the wider business, including updating systems, maintaining records and following up outstanding information. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process day-to-day banking transactions and allocate customer receipts accurately, including card payments received.
  • Support recurring Direct Debit collections, investigating failed or unmatched payments and referring unresolved issues to the appropriate colleague.
  • Maintain sales ledger records and respond to routine customer account and payment queries.
  • Process customer refunds in line with agreed approvals and maintain clear supporting records.
  • Assist with supplier payment runs, checking that invoices and supporting approvals are complete before submitting payments.
  • Chase outstanding company credit-card receipts from cardholders, check that supporting documentation is complete.
  • Assist with purchase ledger processing and other routine finance tasks.
  • Maintain organised electronic records and supporting documents so information can be retrieved easily.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from customers, suppliers and colleagues, seeking guidance where needed.
  • Carry out general administration duties for the wider business, including data entry, record maintenance and following up information.
  • Help identify practical ways to improve everyday processing and administration.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Practical experience in an accounts, finance administration or similar role.
  • Experience processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Good numerical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Excel, email and computer-based systems.
  • An organised approach and the ability to manage regular tasks and deadlines.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality, payment approvals and supporting documentation.
  • Clear, professional communication skills when dealing with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and undertake a mix of finance and administration duties.
