Description

We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new “Towards 2030” strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
The Finance Team at the University of Cumbria plays a crucial role in planning, monitoring, and reporting on the institution’s financial resources. They provide data-driven analysis to aid decision-making and ensure that financial sustainability is integrated into all activities. Additionally, the team handles payment processing, income collection, and compliance with relevant financial, procurement, and estate-related laws and regulations.
We are in search of an individual with a methodical approach and great attention to detail who wants to play a critical part in supporting the Financial Management team. In this capacity, you will work closely with colleagues to ensure that our month-end processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner, providing further analysis and reports as required. You will support a range of activities and processes across the team including the preparation of journals, reconciliations and cash flow monitoring and recording of our fixed assets.
Informal Enquiries: Ben Clark | Head of Financial Performance and Planning | ben.clark@cumbria.ac.uk
We offer a comprehensive set of staff benefits which includes a competitive salary, 35 hour full-time working week, 33 days holiday plus bank holidays, hybrid working in line with business need, and an excellent pension scheme with 8% employer contribution.
