Description
As a Finance Analytics Student, you will support project requirements by gathering information, analyzing reports, and assisting with quarterly review and cleanup initiatives. You’ll help maintain accurate reporting by reviewing Cognos reports, corresponding with users, and completing minor updates. You will also support ticket queue monitoring and process documentation. This role offers hands‑on experience with reporting tools, financial systems, and business transformation activities, with opportunities to tailor learning to your interests and educational goals. This Financial Planning & Analysis team supports the organization by maintaining and enhancing key reporting tools, dashboards, and financial applications such as Cognos, Planning Analytics (TM1), and Oracle. The team ensures that business units have accurate, up‑to‑date information to support decision‑making, long‑term planning, and operational efficiency. They manage report governance, system improvements, data integrity, and user support, playing a critical role in enabling reliable financial insights and supporting major initiatives such as business process transformation and multi‑year planning. Responsibilities: Gather information and analyze reports to support project requirements, primarily in Cognos Assist with quarterly review and cleanup Monitor the team’s ticket queue and support timely responses to user needs Support work related to the five‑year planning process and other major initiatives as needed Document processes to support governance, consistency, and knowledge sharing Your Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Attention to detail and accuracy when working with data or documentation Clear communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Interest in data, reporting tools, and financial systems Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; exposure to Cognos is an asset but not required Your Experience: Currently enrolled in Business Administration with a strong interest in finance and data analytics Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school What We Offer: Professional Development – Student focused learning & development sessions, mentorships and networking events Student Benefits – Housing allowance, co-op fee reimbursement and parking allowance for qualifying candidates.
