Position Overview Finance Business Controller Position Overview Meratus Group seeks a high-caliber Finance Business Controller to lead strategic financial planning and performance enhancement across multiple business units. This role demands a visionary thinker with deep operational finance experience and a proven track record of transforming financial insights into commercial impact. You will act as a key partner to senior leadership, connecting finance with operations, investment strategy, and digital transformation initiatives that fuel long-term, sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership Serve as a senior advisor to Business Unit Leaders and Executive stakeholders, ensuring shareholder interests are prioritized. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reviews, forecasting cycles, and financial strategy discussions. Ensure alignment of financial goals with broader corporate objectives, emphasizing profitability, asset utilization, and cash flow optimization. Investment & Capital Strategy Evaluate new business initiatives and capital investments through robust feasibility studies and risk modelling. Provide strategic recommendations for investment prioritization and ROI maximization. Performance Management & Commercial Analytics Assist Business Unit Leaders in designing and executing the financial framework for quarterly and annual target setting, KPI alignment, and results tracking. Drive end-to-end performance analytics - including trend identification, opportunity sizing, and scenario planning. Assist Business Unit Leaders in initiatives focused on revenue enhancement, cost containment, and margin improvement. Audit, Risk & Governance Establish a robust internal control framework and risk management protocols across financial operations. Represent Finance in internal and external audits; ensure full compliance with regulatory and reporting standards. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Influence Act as a financial liaison across departments (Sales, Operations, Technical, and HQ functions). Build and maintain strategic relationships with JV partners and external consultants. Team Development & Capability Building Lead, coach, and mentor Finance Business Control (FBC) team members, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Foster alignment with Meratus corporate values and cultural goals. Business Process Optimization & Automation Evaluate and refine financial workflows in line with the Policy, Procedure, Process, and Workflow (P3W) framework. Drive digital transformation through automation tools and scalable analytics platforms to improve accuracy, speed, and decision-making. Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelors or Masters' degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (CPA, CFA, CMA) are highly valued. Experience Minimum 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in multinational or operationally diverse environments. Proven success in leading finance business partnering, strategic planning, and investment analysis. Experience across Shipping, Ports/Terminals and Logistics Sector preferred.
