WHAT’S THE ROLE?

The Finance Business Partner will play a key role in supporting the commercial finance function, developing the working relationships with operational leads for the ESL Metering and Data business areas. This position focuses on maintaining and improving accurate financial reporting of these areas whilst driving efficiencies and improvements across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To deliver comprehensive financial information and commentary on performance against budget / reforecast including review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Preparation and review of month end journals.
  • Focus to reduce aged debt by understanding drivers and customer issues.
  • Preparation of annual budget forecasts and reforecasts for relevant business units.
  • Ownership of financial data with focus on business drivers, key messages and no surprises.
  • Continuous improvement of processes and flow of information between departments.
  • Reporting of business specific KPIs for example aborts, utilisation, job mix.
  • Preparation of month end business pack for review with Operational leads.
  • Weekly and Ad hoc meetings with operational leads.
  • Mentoring of finance assistants / analysts within the team promoting and supporting a learning environment.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, WE WOULD LOVE YOU TO HAVE/BE:

  • A professionally qualified Accountant.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modelling and ERP systems (D365 preferable).
  • Excellent reporting skills and are commercially astute.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching and developing team members.
  • The ability to work closely with, and build relationships, with different departments.
  • A problem solver and analytical thinker.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A motivated self-starter with a flexible working attitude and the ability to adapt to a fast paced environment.
