QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally with exposure to admissions, marketing, or revenue management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills, with knowledge of systems such as SAP, Oracle or Workday desirable.
  • A proactive, commercially minded individual with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Support: Support the execution of a finance strategy that aligns with Merlin’s wider goals—driving value, improving forecasting, and enabling better decision-making.
  • Analysis & Planning: Deliver budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario modelling to inform revenue performance and strategic plans.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with revenue management, marketing and attraction teams to guide pricing, investment decisions, and financial planning.
  • Operational Rhythm: Lead operational planning activities and financial reviews to optimise trading performance and help shape future strategies.
  • Insight & Reporting: Provide high-quality reporting and analysis on key performance drivers, identifying opportunities and supporting decision-makers with actionable insights.
  • Process Improvement: Seek out opportunities to enhance efficiency, automate processes, and improve the quality and consistency of financial reporting.
