THE OPPORTUNITY

We are excited to be recruiting for a Finance Business Partner - Logistics & Central Functions. This is a permanent position based at our offices in Thirsk, North Yorkshire or Crick, Northamptonshire, with some flexibility to work across sites.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER

  • Act as the finance partner to logistics and central functions, influencing decision-making with robust financial insight and challenge.
  • Lead monthly reviews of performance, including cost variance analysis and KPIs.
  • Provide scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across logistics and central functions.
  • Support logistics-related projects, including capital investment appraisals and post-implementation reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Shared Service Centre to prepare and submit consolidated monthly management accounts and Board reports.
  • Support the year-end audit process, ensuring timely delivery of reporting and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Own and strengthen the internal control environment for logistics and central functions.
  • Conduct detailed monthly balance sheet reviews to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Lead and contribute to ad hoc projects as required.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in a finance business partnering role within a fast-paced environment (FMCG/logistics experience desirable).
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience in scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
  • Solid understanding of management accounting, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of capital investment appraisal and project finance.
  • High level of integrity and strong internal control awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.
