Commercial Analyst / Financial AnalystHamburg, Germany (Hybrid Working)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing renewable energy IPP based in Hamburg, with a clear ambition to significantly expand its presence in the European energy market.

Founded in 2021, the business has already established a 2GW pipeline of utility-scale PV projects and benefits from strong financial backing, giving it the resources to continue scaling. We are looking for a Commercial / Financial Analyst to support the finance and commercial teams across project analysis, financial modelling and investment decisions.

A key element of the role will be supporting PPA contract negotiations through financial modelling and commercial analysis. You won't lead the negotiations, but will provide the analysis and insights needed to support the wider commercial team.

The company is also particularly interested in someone with an interest in AI, automation and emerging technologies, with the opportunity to explore how these can improve financial and commercial processes.

• Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain financial models for renewable energy projects.
• Analyse revenues, costs, cash flows and project profitability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Provide financial and commercial analysis for investment decisions.
• Support PPA contract negotiations through modelling and analysis.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Monitor project performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare management reports and financial presentations.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting and processes.
• Explore the use of AI and automation within finance and commercial activities.
• Support the wider finance and commercial teams with ad hoc analysis.

• Your ProfileDegree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience in financial analysis, commercial analysis, controlling, investment analysis or similar.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good understanding of financial modelling, forecasting and budgeting.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Commercially minded with an interest in renewable energy.
• Interest in AI, automation or data analytics is highly desirable.
• Renewable energy, infrastructure or project finance experience is advantageous.
• Fluent English & German is a must (C1/C2)
• Proactive, structured and keen to develop.
• No specific accounting or finance software experience required.
