Description
Finance Business Partner 12 month FTC Hatfield, Hybrid Why Ocado? Here at Ocado Logistics, it’s our mission to provide an outstanding customer experience for our partners — developing groundbreaking technology, opening new sites at pace, and building exciting partnerships around the world. We’re changing the way the world shops, for good. We are the beating heart of our UK business, operating a network of cutting-edge warehouses and offices that optimise the supply chain using our proprietary technology. At the same time, we create meaningful career opportunities for our people — offering variety, challenge, and the chance to make a real impact in a fast-moving operational environment. About the role We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Logistics Finance team and play a key role in owning our operational labour costs, on a 12 month FTC basis. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial insight, planning and analysis that enables better decision-making across our logistics operation. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role operating at the heart of a complex, fast-paced logistics environment. You will partner closely with operational and planning teams, building a deep understanding of cost drivers and performance across direct and indirect labour, while ensuring strong financial control and governance. You will be someone who enjoys working in the detail - understanding the numbers, challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities - but who can also step back to provide a clear, strategic view of performance, risk and opportunity to senior stakeholders. Bringing your experience of strong business partnering, ideally gained within logistics, FMCG, retail or similarly operational environments, this is a fantastic opportunity to influence operational performance and help shape financial outcomes within one of the UK’s most innovative logistics networks. What you will do * Business Partnering: Build strong, trusted relationships with operational and planning teams, providing insight, challenge and financial support to drive performance and improve decision-making across the LGV function. * Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes for direct and indirect labour, ensuring assumptions are robust and risks and opportunities are clearly understood. * Performance Insight: Develop a detailed understanding of operational cost drivers and provide meaningful financial analysis and commentary that supports operational efficiency and cost control. * Reporting & Governance: Own the periodic management accounts process, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and clear communication of performance to senior stakeholders. * Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls, contributing to more efficient and scalable ways of working across the Logistics Finance function. * Stakeholder Influence: Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insight that supports operational and commercial decision-making at both tactical and strategic levels. About you We are looking for a commercially minded Finance professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys working closely with the business to drive performance. You will bring strong analytical capability, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to partner with stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities and performance improvements. You will likely have built your experience within logistics, FMCG, retail, manufacturing or similarly fast-paced operational sectors, where understanding operational drivers and influencing stakeholders is critical to success. You will bring * A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA or ACCA) * Experience in a Finance Business Partnering or Management Accounting role * Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reporting * Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and explain financial data * A track record of building effective relationships with operational stakeholders * Advanced Excel skills * The ability to work comfortably in a dynamic, changing environment with competing priorities * Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences   We are particularly interested in people who * Have a strong business partnering background * Can provide clear financial analysis and insight to support decision-making * Are confident working with stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities * Enjoy getting into the detail but can also step back and see the bigger picture * Thrive in operational, fast-paced environments   Importantly, we know great candidates don’t always tick every box. If you bring strong analytical capability, business partnering experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive insight into risks and opportunities, we would still love to hear from you. What you can expect to receive in return At Ocado, we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. You’ll find a collaborative environment alongside a competitive and flexible benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and career development. Join Ocado Logistics and become part of a team that plays a critical role in enabling operational performance across one of the UK’s most advanced logistics networks. * Flexible Work – Hybrid working with 2 days per week in our Hatfield office * Wellbeing Support – Access to dedicated wellbeing apps and an Employee Assistance Programme * Generous Leave – Begin with 25 days annual leave, increasing with service, with the option to buy more * Pension Plan – Up to 7% employer contribution matching * Private Medical Cover – Comprehensive private medical insurance * Family-Friendly Benefits – Enhanced parental leave policies * Financial Aid – Interest-free travel loans and Cycle to Work Scheme * Shopping Perks – 15% discount on Ocado.com and savings at popular retailers * Financial Protection – Income Protection and Life Assurance   We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil  partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. We are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments to support you through the recruitment process.
