As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leaders to provide strategic financial insight, planning and decision support that enables strong performance across your assigned faculty, LSRI or service division. Sitting at the interface between Finance and the business, this role goes beyond reporting to actively influence outcomes. You will support long‑term financial sustainability, strengthen financial capability and help translate strategy into measurable results, while ensuring strong governance and compliance. Key responsibilities include: Partnering with Deans, Directors and senior leaders to support strategic and operational decision‑making Leading annual budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring processes Providing proactive financial insight, analysis and scenario modelling Developing and maintaining KPIs and reporting to support effective performance management Supporting financial governance, risk management and policy compliance Driving continuous improvement initiatives and strengthening financial capability across the business Contributing to University‑wide finance initiatives and a strong “One Finance” culture This is a 6-month Fixed Term, full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday). He kōrero mōu | About You You are a trusted finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence, challenge and partner effectively with senior stakeholders. You understand complex organisations and are comfortable balancing local priorities with broader organisational goals. You bring strong commercial judgement, a collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in helping leaders make informed decisions. You will bring: Have at least five years of experience in Management Accounting or experience in a similar role where you have had engagement with senior stakeholders and led continuous improvement projects while demonstrating knowledge of accounting best practices. Experience using Power BI or similar performance reporting tools Be solutions focussed, have strong initiative, and a collaborative approach. Thrive on analysis and financial business modelling to support senior management. Advanced excel skills are a must, with confidence using large ERP systems such as PeopleSoft and Workday.
