Reviews of applications will be deferred until after January 5, 2026, in observance of the holiday season Your role and work environment The Finance Business Advice team for WB Lending (LS), Transaction Services (TS) and Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) is the financial sparring partner of the Wholesale (WB) product heads. The team is responsible for analyzing and providing business advice including management information towards the WB LS, TS and CMA MTs to support the MT members in further improving the product performance and meeting the Financial KPI’s. Our team members cooperate with many internal stakeholders such as the product MT’s, Group & WB Finance, WB CTO, Treasury, Risk, Corporate Strategy and Finance Operations (COOF). We are looking for a curious and enthusiastic team player who likes to act as linking pin between finance and business. Our future colleague should be curious to understand what is behind the numbers, to translate data into executable business opportunities. In addition, the successful candidate will coordinate and prepare quarterly Performance Dialogues (MBB review of quarterly actuals), yearly Dynamic Plan and Rolling Forecasts for the respective products. Your role would be located in CFO Wholesale Banking Finance department in Amsterdam and you report to the head of Business Advice LS, TS & CMA. This team consists of 8 Finance professionals, all with their own expertise and several years of experience at various levels of the organization. You will interact with different stakeholders across the globe. Your key responsibilities As business controller within the Business Advice LS, TS & CMA team you have the following key responsibilities: Create strong and productive networks across the business to ensure a flow of relevant information, while maintaining an independent, objective finance view. Provide the business with timely and accurate analyses and advice in order to empower them to further improve the performance of their products and to achieve their financial KPI’s; Cooperate with the business to develop Business Cases (based on product, Tech and / or Operations improvement opportunities); Participate in the actuals reporting and forecasting process to facilitate the commercial steering of the business, in line with the overall planning process set by Group Finance. You challenge the business heads and regional heads on their financial plans and advice on adjustments; Develop, implement and improve product profitability reporting. You make sure the business (and finance) receives accurate financial information needed to make decisions in a timely and efficient way; Participate in and support team involvement in multiple cross-functional projects and virtual teams within WB Finance to improve collaboration within both Finance and business; Focus on continuous improvements and look for efficiencies in our analyses, presentations, reporting and communication processes; Maintain relationships with regional and local finance Teams, to discuss (local) developments and challenge them on their local reporting (actuals/forecast). What you bring As business controller within the Business Advice team you bring the following: Excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven business partner. You easily develop your networks and are able to connect people and communicate clearly building long-term relationships; Ability to combine in-dept knowledge of the Wholesale business with large financial datasets and translate this into information and advice to improve the P&L and / or BS and consequently performance of the business line: a business partner that adds value to the business; Ensure effective processes, drive automation and improve data quality to strengthen the data-driven organization; Able to understand how different data sources are related and combine these in integrated reports; Demonstrate ING Orange Code behaviors by participating in and supporting team involvement in multiple cross-functional projects and virtual teams to improve collaboration and improving operational excellence; Customer focus and commercial mindset. Understands the potential customer needs; Initiative and able to create opportunities and openings, the use of scenario analysis, and deep dives to get an idea of the future context; Flexible and pragmatic: capable of delivering in a changing environment. Furthermore, you have/are: 8+ years of relevant experience in a comparable role within a banking environment (or financial institution working with banking products); Advanced skills in MS office (Excel, Powerpoint- Thinkcell), ability to analyze large datasets using PowerBI and / or Python is beneficial; Strong analytical skills and are able to understand and explain complex matters quickly; Your quality of work should match with high standards of our (high level) stakeholders and you are able to give a pitch on banking products and good at story telling.
