ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense claims, and other payments. This position ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures while maintaining strong vendor relationships and accurate financial records. The Accounts Payable Clerk reports to the Finance Director or delegate.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two-year Business or Accounting Certificate or Diploma preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.
• Knowledge of ACCPAC Advantage Series Sage 300 software is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be bondable.

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate coding, authorization, and compliance with policies.
• Prepare and process payments, including cheques and electronic funds transfers.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable files and records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, or missing documentation.
• Prepare reports as required by the Finance Director or delegate.
• Provide coverage and support to the Finance Team as needed.
