The Bigstone Health Commission in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking an experienced Finance Clerk to join our talented Health Team. The Finance Clerk will provide accounting support primarily to Bigstone Group of Companies as well as Bigstone Health Commission. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have a strong knowledge of accounts payable and understanding of the accounting cycle
  • Must have knowledge and practical experience with SAGE accounting system
  • Must have practical experience in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must have strong numerical, verbal, and written skills
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment
  • Ability to keep personal information about employees and others business matters strictly confidential
  • Willing and able to keep up to date with evolving technology
  • Must have experience managing high volumes of requests and documents
  • Must have experience meeting deadlines under pressure

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary education (Certificate or Diploma) related to Accounting, Business Administration and/or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping
  • Knowledge and practical experience with SAGE accounting system
  • Completion of additional training certificates relevant to financial administration considered an asset
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license
Responsibilities
  • All duties required for the audit and payment of relevant Accounts Payable Invoices
  • All duties required for the audit and receipt of Accounts Receivable Invoices
  • Prepare accounts payable cheques and EFTs for signature and submission
  • Prepare deposits on a regular basis
  • Adheres to the policies and standards to ensure that laws and regulations are being followed
  • Maintains professional conduct in a manner that complies with Bigstone Health Commission’s standards
  • Other duties as required
