THE POSITION

Are you a student looking for an opportunity to help build your career during your work term? The Town of Erin is seeking to hire a student to assist in the Finance department for period of September – December 2025. The successful candidate will obtain valuable work experience and gain transferable skills in all areas of municipal finance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in finance is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of variance analysis, including statistics, trends and KPIs.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to the Town Hall.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the processing and management of Accounts Payable.
  • Support Accounts Receivable activities and reconciliation efforts.
  • Assist with tasks pertaining to taxation.
  • Participate in Corporate Accounting functions and documentations.
  • Take part in the completion of the Annual Audit and Budget Preparation process.
  • Aid in the development and drafting of policies and reports.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and help resolve their concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance & Town Treasurer.
