The Finance Controller will be responsible for managing the financial health of the company, ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations, and driving financial efficiency, now and in accordance with future plans. Reporting to the CEO/FD the role will involve business partnering with department Directors to support strategic and operational business activities along with implementing and overseeing the latest financial management and reporting tools, to embed an infrastructure that will support future growth. The ideal candidate will strong understanding of financial management within a regulated environment and ideally experience in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies and procedures to support the overall business objectives.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights to support business decisions.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports, analysis and insights to the Board and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for the oversight and delivery of annual budgets, business plan and revenue forecasting.
  • Manage cash flow, financial planning, and risk management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role will report to the CEO/FD and will manage a small team of 2 people.

Management reporting

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to align with growth objectives
  • Prepare financial performance and strategy to shareholders, investors and the board
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports including oversight of ledger reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments and variance analysis

Finance Transactions

  • Oversee all accounting operations
  • Monitor and optimise cash flow, cash investments, working capital performance and capital expenditure.
  • Ensuring that all chasing of payments and activations is carried out correctly according to our procedures.

Reconciling

  • Manage all daily and weekly reconciliations
  • Ensuring that all invoices are created/sent in line with our procedures.

Financial Planning

  • Financial modelling as required to support to appraise strategic opportunities and future growth plans
  • Lead on all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Account Managers as requested

Business Partnering

  • Work cross functionally with other departments to integrate financial planning into operational strategies
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify areas for revenue and margin improvement and cost optimisation.

Compliance

  • Oversee audits and address findings with actionable improvement
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies for financial reporting and compliance.

Leading and Developing

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring continuous improvement and best practices.

Responsibilities for personal data:

  • Ensure all processing of personal data complies with corporate policy and guidance requirements.
  • Ensure all risks or perceived risks to personal data are reported in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all incidents or near misses involving personal data are referred to the Information Governance Lead as soon as possible.
  • Ensure all requests from individuals to exercise their rights are referred to the Information Governance Lead as soon as they are received.
  • Complete annual Information Governance training as required.
  • To always treat the personal data of staff and customers with care and respect.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent finance qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a senior finance role, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or a regulated industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations, tax compliance, and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero).
  • Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate financial data into business insights.
  • Leadership: Experience in managing finance teams and working with senior stakeholders.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ideally experience with SaaS products and the Healthcare Technology sector
    Salary; £65-70k - (pro-rated)
    Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: £65,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
    Expected hours: 14 – 21 per week
