We are a leading UK-based safety footwear company dedicated to providing high-quality safety solutions for various industries since 1854. We’re proud of our heritage, having manufactured the first leather fire boot to be tested to UK safety standards and continue to innovate with market leading products, including our primary brand, Tuffking.
Due to continued international growth, we are relocating to larger premises in Swindon and we are seeking an experienced, proactive Finance Coordinator / Bookkeeper to join our team.
The successful candidate will carry out efficient bookkeeping duties and provide timely and relevant management information to support the smooth running of the business.
Your main duties will include:

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • Accurate records are kept of sales and purchase invoices and payments to enable up to date accounts to be produced and to support an effective credit control process
  • Payments are processed in a timely fashion
  • Records are filed consistently to support the audit process
  • Management receive regular reports on financial activities and issues to support effective decision making.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with SAP Business 1
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good written English, shown by qualification in English Language at Level 2 or above
  • Good level of numeracy, shown by qualification in Maths at Level 2 or above
  • Previous experience using accounting software.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping processes.
  • Ability to follow processes and contribute to process improvements
  • Previous experience in a bookkeeping / finance support role
  • Ability to prioritise workload and handle interruptions
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence to challenge when appropriate, with relevant information
  • Adaptability to respond to changing plans and priorities.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proactive, team player

Ideally you will have a relevant bookkeeping qualification (such as NVQ Level 4 or AAT Accounting Technician level).
Equally important is your passion for delivering high quality finance support and being motivated by your own professional development and the company’s development. The company has ambitious growth plans and we are looking for team members who are excited by the long term prospects that this offers.
Full-time hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm (with 30 minute lunch) or 8.30am to 5pm (with half hour lunch) depending on your preference. However we are open to discussions about part-time hours, such as 3-4 full days a week or 5 shorter days for the right person. This role will be based at our new site in Kembrey Park, which is easily accessible by public transport.
