ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Data Analyst to collect, interpret, and visualise complex financial data to support our financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for uncovering insights from financial data.

To be successful you will need to have the following skills and experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant analytical experience
  • Ability to produce, analyse, and interpret complex reports and management information
  • Significant analytical skillset, including the expertise in the utilisation of Power BI and Advanced Excel
  • Professional experience in a Finance function supporting a project-based environment (desirable) involving stakeholder reporting, cost management, budget development and analysis

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

This role reports to the Head of Finance within the Finance & Business Operations (F&BO) division.

Tasks include:

  • Work closely with the F&BO leadership team to formulate medium to long-term financial plans
  • Analyse and challenge submissions made by department heads during annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting
  • Act as a SME on the (Power BI based) management reporting system and provide analytical support to report recipients
  • Create presentations that provide insightful analysis
  • Develop or maintain financial models and reporting that assist the F&BO team in improving efficiencies
  • Calculate project costing rates annually and perform monthly analysis on fluctuations from budgeted rates
