Description

The Financial Director reporting to the Regional Vice President, is responsible for the corporate support services that apply to a Region. This includes general administration, financial management, human resources and information technology.

  • Overall management of the following functions: Financial and Accounting, Human Resources (unless a dedicated HR manager is available), IT, Administration, Legal
  • Identification and implementation of cost control measures
  • Management of Cash Flow
  • Management of foreign currency exposure
  • Performance of Company Secretarial functions or alternatively outsourcing thereof
  • Management and supervision of the Accounting and Finance teams in the region
  • Provision of financial and business support to each of the operational divisions including support for strategic and new business opportunities
  • Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts and compliance with regular reporting requirements
  • Determination of administrative procedures and standards
  • Ensuring that all administrative, human resource and related operations are conducted in compliance with the relevant laws of the country of operation
  • Ensuring that appropriate supplier contractual arrangements are concluded
  • Assistance with securing and rendering such management information that may be required by the Regional Vice President or Group Finance Director
  • Establishment of policies and procedures for the Finance Division, ensuring regional compliance and alignment to Group Finance policies
  • Attendance at “Pre” and “Post” audit meetings and accompanying (as necessary) any 3rd Party Auditors during the audit process being conducted on the Finance function
  • Ensuring that Management Letter points and any other matters raised by the auditors are addressed and that corrective actions are implemented as required
  • Conducting legal contract reviews
  • Ensuring financial control and compliance within all outgoing documents
  • Analysis of financial results to understand variances and report on risks
  • Ensuring that all appropriate insurance policies are in place and current
  • Ensuring that adequate IT systems are in place to ensure efficiency, redundancy, security and safety in accordance with Group policy
  • Ensuring correct and timely preparation and submission of VAT, Income Tax and other statutory returns required to comply with all local regulations and legislation

EDUCATION:

  • Tertiary Qualification: B com (Accounting) Hons
  • Chartered Accountant with articles at one of the big 4 audit firms
  • MBA qualification at a reputable business school preferable

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 6 - 8 years senior financial management level, preferably in Aviation or Service Industry
  • 5 - 6 years managing a finance team
