JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be fully responsible for the financial function of the Company, including financial planning, budgeting and reporting. This is a hands on role and would be ideal for a proactive and committed individual who can contribute to strategic decision-making while being involved and managing day to day financial activities.

  • Full responsibility for the Company finance function, including authorisation and review
  • Processing of monthly payroll
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Working closely with workstream leads to track financial performance of contracts, ensure timely and accurate invoicing and cost capture and quarterly assessment of contract profitability
  • Full quarterly assessment of deferred/accrued income across all projects
  • Provision of financial and efficiency management information to Senior Management, to monitor business performance and to support strategic business decision making
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts, (including cash flow) and written report to The Board
  • Preparation of year-end financial statements and supporting pack
  • Annual budgeting and business planning
  • Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure financial stability, including treasury management.
  • Implement, and maintain financial processes, policies and controls
  • Liaise with external providers, including HMR&C, insurance brokers, pension provider & the accountants responsible for statutory accounts.
  • Fulfil responsibilities of Company Secretary
  • Preparation and maintenance of employment contracts and related documentation pertaining to background checks, bonus scheme, salary reviews and pension

We are looking for a candidate who is analytical, with an ability to provide strong management information to enable decision making. You will be commercially astute, with a strategic mindset and have high attention to detail particularly accuracy in financial reporting. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and work with people at all levels across this small business. You will have experience of managing small teams and be a collaborative, positive and proactive team player.
Experience of systems implementation and process/controls improvements would be advantageous.
