We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and commercial insight. Based in Thame, with a hybrid working model.

Description

• Finance Director Key Responsibilities
• Commercial Finance
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Drive pricing, profitability and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and business cases.
  • Support international financial planning as overseas operations expand.
• Financial Management
  • Lead the finance function and manage the Bookkeeper.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital and KPI reporting.
  • Monitor profitability and identify performance trends and anomalies.
• Financial Control
  • Maintain robust financial controls and compliance.
  • Manage month-end and year-end processes.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
  • Oversee VAT, tax compliance and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Operational Responsibilities
  • Oversee AP, AR, credit control and payroll.
  • Improve financial systems, reporting and process automation.
  • Support ERP and accounting system optimisation.

Profile

A successful Finance Director should have:

• Essential
• * ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• * Experience in a similar senior finance role.
• * Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards.
• * Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
• * Experience of international trading and multi-currency accounting.
• * Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar.
• * Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• * Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
