ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a commercially driven and analytically strong Finance Director to lead MSC Sweden’s finance and business control function. This is a high-impact leadership role with a clear mandate: transform Finance from a traditional accounting unit into a proactive, insight-led business partner that drives profitability, optimizes cash flow, and supports strategic decision-making across the organization. You will lead a talented finance team of 5 direct reports in Gothenburg, and you have a dotted line to the finance team in Riga, which consists of six team members. You are responsible for the financial operating model follow-up monthly. You are a key member of MSC Sweden’s Management Team, reporting directly to the Managing Director in Sweden.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Finance Director you have the overall responsibility for financial reporting, including setting budgets and forecasts follow-up and gap analysis.

• Full ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking
• Translate financial results into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations
• Drive profitability analysis and commercial scenario planning for strategic decision-making
• Lead cash flow management and working capital optimization
• Establish and monitor key operational and financial KPIs
• Build strong business cases to support commercial initiatives and investment decisions
• Develop and lead a high-performing finance and business control team
• Challenge cost structures and lead continuous process improvements
• Ensure full compliance with internal controls, legal, tax and audit frameworks
• Actively support strategic planning and market analysis to align financial direction with business goals’
