POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finance Director is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. This role combines strategic financial planning with hands-on accounting and reporting functions, ensuring the organization remains fiscally healthy and compliant with all regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial operations, knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the financial management of a non-profit organization and knowledge of grants management and reporting with all types of grants-federal, state, and private foundations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.
Provide financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to guide decision-making.

- Present financial reports to the Board of Directors and Executive Director, ensuring transparency and clarity.

ACCOUNTING & CONTROLLER DUTIES:

  • Organize and the financial accounting systems to efficiently gather the data needed for producing timely, accurate, and informative periodic reports
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, maintenance of vendor filing system to include management of required information on vendors and sub-contractors (W-9, 1099’s) and general ledger functions like conducting month-end and year-end closings and maintaining the chart of accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Supervise the process of accounts receivable to include timely invoicing and deposits and ensure reconciliation of accounts receivable to the general ledger.
  • Ensure payroll operations function accurately and efficiently in accordance with related regulations and compliance with payroll tax reporting
  • Manage all financial audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Monitor cash flow and oversee banking relationships.
