About the role

We are looking for a meticulous, analytical, and commercially minded Finance Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day to day finance and accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage full or partial sets of accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L statements, cost statements, financial reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Support month end and year end closing, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and variance analysis, including monitoring actual performance against budgets.
  • Monitor company expenses, project costs, and cash flow, and provide financial analysis to support management decision making and cost control.
  • Manage and monitor grant related finances, including grant budgets, expenditure tracking, claims, supporting documentation, and financial reporting in accordance with grant requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, and internal stakeholders, and provide the necessary schedules and supporting documents.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and effective financial controls, identifying discrepancies and assisting with process improvements.
  • Provide general finance support to management and other departments on accounting, budgeting, expenditure, and financial matters.

About you

  • Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Accountancy, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end closing.
  • Experience preparing P&L statements, cost statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Experience in grant finance, grant claims, funded projects, or government grants will be an advantage.
  • Experience in managing or supporting at least 2-3 complete annual audit cycles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
