Position Summary: The Finance Intern will support the Finance Department in the day-to-day functions that maintain the fiscal health and compliance of the organization. This internship provides exposure to nonprofit financial management within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. The intern will assist with tasks including financial reporting, data entry, invoice processing, budgeting, and audits, gaining insight into public health funding, grants, and regulatory compliance. Essential Functions: Enter financial transactions, invoices, and journal entries into accounting systems accurately and on time. Review and organize vendor invoices, receipts, and reimbursement forms to ensure proper documentation. Track expenditures against program and grant budgets under supervision. Compile financial data for internal reports, funding agencies, or audits. Assist in preparing supporting documents for annual audits and other financial reviews. Reconcile assigned accounts such as petty cash, bank statements, or ledger entries. Maintain accurate and organized financial files in both digital and physical formats. Attend department meetings to observe and understand financial planning processes. Identify opportunities to streamline financial tracking or reporting processes. Assist in sending invoices to PACE participants and tracking spend down. Support the Finance Department with additional tasks and projects as needed.
