Description Position Summary The Finance Intern will support the Finance Department by assisting with basic accounting functions, financial reporting preparation, and data analysis projects. This position provides hands-on experience in healthcare finance while allowing the intern to gain exposure to accounting operations, financial reporting, analytics, and business intelligence tools. The intern will work closely with the finance team to support day-to-day financial processes and organizational reporting needs. This internship is designed for students currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline who are interested in gaining real-world experience in healthcare finance and analytics. Description of Primary Responsibilities 1) Accounting Support a) Assist with general ledger reconciliations and account analysis. b) Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice tracking and documentation. c) Assist with fixed asset tracking and financial record organization. d) Help maintain organized financial documentation for audits and internal review. e) Assist with monthly close preparation tasks under supervision. 2) Financial Reporting Support a) Assist in preparing financial reports and spreadsheets for internal review. b) Support data gathering for departmental budget monitoring and variance analysis. c) Help compile supporting documentation for audits, grant reporting, and financial reviews d) Assist with maintaining financial records in accordance with organizational policies 3) Analytics & Data Support a) Assist in gathering and organizing financial and operational data. b) Support development of dashboards or reports using data tools such as Power BI or Excel. c) Help analyze data trends to support financial and operational decision making. d) Assist with data validation and report accuracy. 4) Learning & Professional Development a) Participate in finance team meetings to gain exposure to healthcare financial management. b) Observe and assist with projects related to financial planning, analytics, and reporting. c) Gain familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools used within the organization. d) Support special projects assigned by the Finance or Accounting leadership team. 5) Compliance and Documentation a) Maintain confidentiality of financial and organizational information. b) Follow organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. c) Assist in maintaining documentation that supports financial accuracy and audit readiness. Requirements Qualifications: a) Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. b) Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. c) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. d) Interest in financial analytics and data reporting tools such as Power BI is preferred. e) Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn. f) Ability to work collaboratively in a professional healthcare environment.
