Job Description Primary Responsibilities: The Finance Leader for South Asia & Oceania is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for driving the financial health, operational excellence, and sustainable growth of the Water Tech business across the SA & OCE region. This leader will oversee all financial operations, lead a high-performing finance team, and serve as a trusted business partner to regional and global stakeholders. Key responsibilities include the following: Financial strategy & planning: Develop and execute the financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives. Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, short-term and long-term financial planning processes. Provide strategic recommendations to the management team based on financial analysis, projections, SG&A optimization, T&L cost identification, and allocation to ensure profitable and cost effective operating structure. Financial reporting & analysis: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports. Maintain compliance with local regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Drive financial analysis, identify financial risks and opportunities to support key business decisions. Ensure seamless integration and data flow between internal finance systems and external service providers to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy. Commercial partnership/growth enablement: Act as a strategic finance business partner to the commercial team, enabling business development and revenue growth. Proactively engage with key account customers and their board-level leadership to build advocacy, strengthen relationships, and develop a robust pipeline of opportunities. Compliance, governance & risk management: Ensure full compliance with local tax laws, regulatory requirements, and Veolia governance framework. Oversee internal controls and maintain effective relationships with internal/external auditors, legal advisors and regulatory bodies. Ensure that all work delivered by third-party providers meets compliance and quality standards and is fully aligned with internal control policies. Finance TOM implementation & team development: Lead the development & implementation of Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE) & Target Operating model - GCC (Global Capability Center) in collaboration with third-party suppliers, Accenture and others as needed. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team in the South Asia & Oceania region. Build a robust talent pipeline for the key positions within the team. Water Tech transformation & integration: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to evaluate and support LERP, M&A and business transformation initiatives, ensuring compliance and tax/cost effectiveness. Lead the integration of Water Tech finance systems and processes across the region. Champion digital transformation and automation of finance processes. Growth of India for the World focus: Support VGEC, DB&T and other GCC set ups and other strategic initiatives to support India for the World initiative. Support India Growth story - Investments in strategic area such as India Mobile Center, Expansion of the office facility, Mfg facility and development of Eco system to support the Growth Qualifications Qualifications Required: Educational requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (required) MBA from a reputable institution (strongly preferred) Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) (mandatory) Additional qualifications such as CPA or CFA are highly desirable Professional experience: Minimum of 20 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 8 - 10 years in a senior finance role ( Finance Director, CFO or VP of Finance). Proven track record of managing and integrating third-party financial service providers in complex organizational environments Experience in M&A, restructuring, or business transformation is a strong advantage Technical & business skills: Deep knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), IFRS, GAAP, GST, corporate law, and SEBI regulations. Familiarity with Oceania Accounting Standards, tax regulations is preferred. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) Working knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Hyperion) Leadership & Soft skills: Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business strategy into actionable financial plans Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop diverse, cross-functional teams Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of commercial and operational drivers Executive presence with excellent communication and presentation skills Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in a multi-regional environment High ethical standards, sound judgment, and integrity Additional Information As an inclusive company, Veolia is committed to diversity and gives equal consideration to all applications, without discrimination.
