Our client, a growing SME, is looking to welcome a Finance Manager to join their team. The newly created role has come about due to organic growth of the business and reports to the FD with close proximity to the CFO.The successful candidate will be a technically strong controller who enjoys overseeing month-end, GL activities and statutory reporting.
- Key Responsibilities:Own the end-to-end period-end close calendar, ensuring accurate and timely closure
- Oversee the preparation and review of management accounts, the monthly P&L pack and the Balance Sheet Review
- Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements in line with Irish GAAP
- Supervise AP/AR functions
- Oversight of VAT, Intrastat and VIES returns and ROS prep/review/submission in compliance with local tax obligations
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. suppliers, IT, audit, outsourced payroll providers)
- Maintain and improve internal control framework across all finance processes
- Lead and manage a team of 3 (performance reviews, KPIs, professional development of junior accountants)
- Key Skills:Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- 5 years' PQE, 2 of which should be in a senior reporting role
- Background in pharma, retail, wholesale or distribution sectors is an advantage
- Demonstrated history of owning end to end period-end close and statutory reporting activities to Irish GAAP
- Strong knowledge and practical application of Irish tax compliance — VAT, Intrastat, VIES, CT and ROS
- Experience managing a small finance team including supporting part-qualified team members through their professional qualifications
- IT skills: ERP experience (SAP B1), familiarity with Power BI and AI tools is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative, hands-on working style
