Finance Manager Location: Cardiff (Office-based, 5 days a week) Salary: £38,000- £44,000 base (DOE) + up to £3,000 annual bonus Start Date: Early 2026 Are you an experienced finance professional ready to take ownership of the full finance function within a growing tech business? Based onsite in St Mellons, Cardiff, we’re expanding our Business Support team and are looking for a Finance Manager to lead and manage the company’s finance function as our sole finance professional. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director, Directors, and Head of People, with day-to-day support from experienced senior managers and our external accountants. This structure gives you autonomy and ownership, while ensuring professional support for statutory accounts, tax compliance, and best-practice governance. What you’ll do: Manage the end-to-end finance function, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial operations. Raise customer invoices, manage credit control, and oversee debtor monitoring and cash collection. Process supplier invoices and maintain purchase ledger records. Complete bank, balance sheet, and control account reconciliations. Maintain and manage the accounting system, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Prepare and submit information for VAT returns and support compliance processes. Maintain the fixed asset register, accruals, and prepayments. Produce monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow reporting. Prepare monthly reporting packs with commentary, variance analysis, and key financial insights. Monitor cash flow and produce regular forecasts to support business planning. Support budgeting and reforecasting activities, providing financial guidance to senior leadership. Work closely with external accountants on year-end statutory accounts and tax requirements. Maintain and improve financial controls, procedures, and audit readiness. Support commercial decisions on pricing, contracts, suppliers, and cost control. Collaborate with Sales, Admin/Operations, and senior stakeholders on finance-related matters. What you bring: Experience managing finance in an SME environment with end-to-end responsibility. Proven experience producing monthly management accounts and cash-flow reporting. Strong understanding of transactional finance, reconciliations, and VAT processes. Confidence operating accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, or similar) and Excel. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues. Bonus points for: AAT Level 4, part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience. Experience in a technology, SaaS, or B2B environment. Experience improving finance processes, controls, or systems. Exposure to dashboards or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
