This is what you can expect from us

  • You are responsible for the accounting processes from start to finish – from accounts payable and accounts receivable to expenses and fixed asset accounting, all the way to the general ledger.
  • You manage the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for two German companies.
  • You are responsible for liquidity management and monitor the daily cash flow.
  • You ensure the accuracy and completeness of profit and loss and balance sheet accounts, conduct regular reconciliations, and identify potential risks early on.
  • You analyze the monthly business results in comparison to the budgets and explain relevant deviations from the Group Finance.
  • You prepare and validate local general ledger data for BPC consolidation.
You lead and develop your team.
  • You lead, develop and motivate the team in Transactional Accounting and define performance targets together with the employees.
  • You foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and open collaboration.
  • You will strengthen cross-border collaboration with the regional finance teams.
You ensure compliance and quality.
  • You ensure compliance with the requirements of German Commercial Code (HGB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and are responsible for the reconciliation between IFRS and HGB at the end of the year.
  • You are the main point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors and local authorities.
  • Your responsibilities include structural statistics and the breakdown of personnel costs for trade tax purposes.
  • You ensure a robust internal control system, participate in the Smollan Finance Forum, and manage the execution of local audits.
You will further develop our processes
  • Together with the Head of Group Finance Operations, you will optimize workflows, simplify processes and reduce manual tasks.
  • You will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders – including Commercial, FBPs, Group Accounting, suppliers and financial institutions.
  • You will also take on short-term strategic tasks for the local Managing Directors or the Group Finance management.

What you bring

  • Several years of demonstrable experience in a senior finance role with responsibility for central accounting processes.
  • A completed qualification in finance or accounting, or a corresponding degree.
  • Sound knowledge of German accounting standards according to HGB and the relevant IFRS and reporting principles.
  • Experience in the successful implementation of new financial processes and the continuous optimization of existing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as confident communication across national and departmental boundaries.
  • Excellent German and English skills.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
  • Experience with SAP BPC or a comparable solution for financial consolidation.
