JOB DESCRIPTION

The Finance Manager will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and work closely with the General Manager of Avro GSE Inc. The position is responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. The Finance Manager will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting while supporting both Avro and Saskarc Group leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • CPA designation (or progress toward CPA) strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a Finance Manager or comparable senior finance role.
  • Experience working in a comparable industry (manufacturing, equipment, or industrial services) and in a company with at least 50 employees.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Avro’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Group policies.
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls.
  • Partner with the General Manager of Avro and business unit leaders to provide timely financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including margin and variance reporting.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes; provide rolling forecasts and scenario analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow, treasury, and working capital, ensuring strong liquidity and financial health.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and external reporting requirements.
  • Strengthen and monitor internal controls in alignment with Group standards.
  • Supervise and mentor Finance Associates, supporting their growth and development.
  • Support sales and operations teams in areas such as pricing, customer credit reviews, invoicing, and collections.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and business cases to support growth initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Occasional travel to other Avro locations as required.
