Job OverviewThe Finance Manager in Germany is responsible for establishing and operating reliable finance processes, controls and reporting for Chery Commercial Vehicle’s German business.

This role reports to the Head of Operation / Germany General Manager, with functional reporting to HQ Finance. The position will play a key role in establishing the German finance function, supporting the transition from the EOR model to the local entity, and ensuring compliance with German statutory and group requirements.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and continuously improve local finance policies, accounting processes, the closing calendar, chart of accounts and internal controls.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, including general ledger review, accruals, reconciliations, management reporting and HQ finance submissions.
  • Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash-flow plans, profitability analysis and monthly budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, banking, payments, employee expenses, supplier invoices and related approval workflows.
  • Coordinate German VAT/USt, import VAT, corporate tax, statutory accounts, annual audits and regulatory filings with external tax advisers, auditors and other professional service providers.
  • Manage key automotive finance topics including dealer rebates, sales discounts, credit notes, marketing expenses, accruals, inventory-related accounting and relevant profitability analysis.
  • Support German entity setup, local bank account establishment, ERP/SAP implementation, finance data migration and the EOR-to-entity transition.
  • Maintain effective finance controls within ERP/SAP and approval systems, including segregation of duties, master-data controls, reconciliations and exception management.
  • Partner with HR on payroll postings, personnel-cost accruals, bonuses, benefits and monthly personnel-cost reporting.
  • Provide finance business partnering support to Sales, Aftersales, Marketing and Operations, including commercial analysis, cost control and financial evaluation of business decisions.
  • Manage finance-related external vendors and maintain effective communication with HQ Finance and cross-functional stakeholders.


  • QualificationsBachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Business Administration or a related discipline; German accounting or tax qualifications are an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, reporting, controlling or audit within a German and international business environment.
  • Experience in the automotive, commercial vehicle, manufacturing, dealer group, auto finance, leasing/fleet or logistics industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of German HGB, VAT/USt, closing, statutory reporting, FP&A, cash management, accruals and internal controls; knowledge of IFRS/group reporting is an advantage.
  • Practical experience with SAP/S4HANA or other ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with finance system implementation or process setup is preferred.
  • Experience with dealer rebates, credit notes, sales discounts, marketing expenses, inventory or cost accounting is an advantage.
  • Able to work independently and build finance processes in an early-stage or rapidly growing subsidiary environment.
  • Strong business and analytical mindset, high integrity, attention to detail and strong internal-control awareness.
  • Strong cross-functional and cross-cultural communication skills.
